You sent the same message to three developers: "I need a website for my business, how much?" One said 7,000 EGP. One said 35,000. One asked for a meeting before giving any number at all.
Nobody in that list is necessarily lying. They are pricing three different websites, because "a website" can mean a single page with a WhatsApp button or a system that takes bookings, payments and runs your team's day.
Below are indicative Egyptian-market ranges for 2026, what moves the number, and how to get quotes you can actually compare.
Why website quotes in Egypt vary so much
A developer quoting 7,000 EGP and one quoting 35,000 EGP are usually not looking at the same job. The first may be picturing a template with your logo and phone number dropped in. The second may be picturing custom design, an Arabic and English version, a contact form that actually reaches you, and a speed and security setup that holds up.
Neither is wrong. Your message did not say which one you need, so each filled the gap with their own assumption. The useful question is not "how much?" but "what exactly is included at that price?"
Indicative website prices in Egypt for 2026
These ranges reflect the Egyptian market for hand-built work in 2026. They are indicative only and depend on scope.
| Project | Indicative range (EGP) | What typically sits at the top of the range |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page | 5,000 – 20,000 | Custom design, copywriting, tracking, A/B variants |

| Online store (custom) | 35,000 – 150,000+ | Online payments, shipping rules, stock sync, big catalogues |
| Custom e-learning platform | 38,000 – 150,000+ | Video protection, exams, live classes, payments, attendance |
| Custom platform, dashboard or booking system | 40,000 – 250,000+ | Roles and permissions, integrations, reports, heavy logic |
| Mobile app (Android + iOS) | 80,000 – 400,000+ | Real-time features, payments, a dashboard behind it |
| Monthly maintenance | 1,000 – 8,000 / month | Frequent updates, monitoring, priority support |
If a quote falls well below the bottom of a range, ask what was removed to get there. Our article on the hidden costs of a cheap website walks through the usual suspects.
What actually drives the price
Most of the cost of a website is people's time. Anything that adds hours adds money.
Features, not pages
A 10-page site with text and photos is often cheaper than a 3-page site with online booking. Pages are mostly layout. Features are logic: rules, edge cases, emails, admin screens and testing.
A booking form that knows your hours, blocks double bookings and sends reminders is a small piece of software.
Unique designs versus repeated layouts
Ten pages that share two layouts cost far less than ten pages that each have their own design. Ask how many distinct layouts your site needs.
Arabic and English
A proper bilingual site is not a translation plugin. Arabic needs a right-to-left layout, fonts that render well, correct handling of numbers and dates, and separate page addresses so Google can index both versions. Expect it to add real work, not just a language switch. We cover the details in building an Arabic and English website properly.
Who writes and prepares the content
Content is the most common reason projects stall. If you deliver final text and good photos, the job is faster. If the studio writes copy, sources images or translates, that is extra scope and should appear on the quote as its own line.
Integrations
Online payments, WhatsApp, Google Maps, SMS, shipping companies, an existing accounting system: each connection has setup work, testing and sometimes a monthly fee from the provider itself.
Deadline
A two-week deadline on a six-week job means other work gets moved or more people get added. Rush work costs more, and it should.
Running costs after launch
The build is a one-time cost. A website also has costs that keep coming, and a good quote tells you about them upfront.
- Domain name. Renewed every year. The price depends on the extension (.com, .eg, .com.eg, .sa and so on) and the registrar, and renewals are sometimes priced higher than the first year.
- Hosting. Monthly or yearly. The price depends on the type of hosting, traffic, storage and whether you need a server of your own.
- Maintenance. Roughly 1,000 to 8,000 EGP a month, indicative, depending on how often things change and how fast you need responses.
- Third-party services. Payment providers take fees per transaction, and SMS or email sending services charge by volume. Fees vary by provider and plan, so ask each one for its current rate sheet.
Three hypothetical budgets
These are imagined examples to show how scope shapes the number. They are not real clients.
Same word, "website". Three completely different jobs.
How to get a quote you can compare
The fix for confusing quotes is not more quotes. It is sending everyone the same clear information. Before you contact anyone, prepare this:
- Two or three sentences on what your business does and who your customers are
- The one job the website must do (bookings, leads, sales, credibility)
- A list of pages you expect
- Features split into "must have now" and "can wait"
- Languages: Arabic, English, or both
- Who provides the text and photos
- Two or three websites you like, and what exactly you like about them
- A budget range and a realistic launch date
That list is essentially a brief. Our guide on how to write a website brief turns it into a one-page template you can fill in within an hour.
When quotes come back, compare them line by line: inclusions, exclusions, who owns the domain and hosting, revision rounds and support after launch.
Common budgeting mistakes
- Comparing totals instead of scopes. A cheaper quote that excludes content and bilingual support is not cheaper.
- Spending the whole budget on the build. Keep money aside for the first year of hosting, maintenance and small changes.
- Asking for everything in version one. Launch with what earns or saves money now. Add the rest once real customers show you what they use.
- Ignoring the choice of approach. Templates and custom code have different costs over time. Our honest comparison of custom code and templates helps you pick.
- Leaving ownership vague. Make sure the domain, hosting and code end up in your name.
Questions people ask
How much does a simple company website cost in Egypt in 2026?
A custom 5 to 10 page company website usually falls between 15,000 and 60,000 EGP, indicative. Bilingual content, many unique layouts and copywriting push it toward the top of that range.
Why do some developers quote 3,000 or 4,000 EGP?
Usually because the work is a template with your details added, little testing and no support after launch. That can suit a short-term need, but ask what is included.
Are domain and hosting included in the website price?
Sometimes for the first year, often not. Either way, ask for them as separate lines and make sure they are registered in your name, not the developer's.
Can I pay in stages?
Most studios split payment into milestones, such as a deposit, a payment after design approval and a final one at launch. Agree them in writing first.
How long does a website take to build?
A landing page can take one to two weeks, a company website several weeks, and platforms longer. Late content is the usual reason timelines slip.
Is it cheaper to start small and grow later?
Often yes, as long as the first version is built so it can grow. Starting small on a foundation that has to be thrown away later is the expensive version of cheap.
Where to go from here
A good price starts with a clear picture of what you need. Spend an hour on a short brief, send the same brief to everyone you are considering, and compare what comes back line by line.
